Key points on current feasibility and delivery
1. Drain blocking is funded through FGS, with payment rates ranging from £13
to £385 per drain depending on the distance between drains and their width.
2. Most drains are part of a system requiring a holistic approach to effectively restore
the area to forest bog. Peatland ACTION funding supports a holistic approach and
includes a wider range of interventions to enable restoration compared to FGS.
Funding can however be restricted if the work is eligible through FGS.
